Hands down the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in any business, not just dealing with an insurance company. My wife and I purchased a house Jan 2016 – I had been shopping insurance and was looking to combine both our auto and new home policy. Sumair’s agency gave me a fair quote. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. But given they’re an “ALLSTATE” exclusive agent, I figured I would be getting a professional that knew the ends and outs of multiple policies and would look to build a solid and trusting relationship for years to come. I could have never been more wrong. It started out on shaky ground and I should have trusted my gut then,. But I let it ride thinking it would right itself. The first agent (not Sumair) I was dealing with either left or quit and we were then picked up by Sumair who explained to me that he was taking over my account. The earlier issues I was having didn’t get better with him at the helm. They got worse and in a hurry. First my Auto policy was canceled due to missing paperwork from his office. So the bank that was financing my truck notified me that they were going to force insurance on my truck unless I could show proof. I thought there must have been a mistake so I reached out to Sumair on this. He gave me an excuse that there was something that the bank must have missed and that he would rectify it immediately. After a couple of weeks back and forth with the bank, Sumair and myself. We were able to get it sorted out. Next came the crazy swings in my payments. I was mistakenly double charged on my down payment which took several days to be credited back to me. Then, the price I was quoted for my payment went up about $70.00 per month,. I had to go back to Sumair again and try to get an explanation on this. More back peddling and additional back and forth emails we finally got it sorted out. Then comes the biggest kick in the pants. Sumair failed yet again to submit the proper paperwork to my mortgage company so that they can pay for the home insurance out of my escrow. I took several months of me chasing Sumair to get this done. After it was finally submitted there was a lapse in coverage of about two weeks. For my mortgage to maintain its legality, I have to show coverage 24/7 – 365. We asked if Sumair get submit the proof to show that my home was covered and that the lapse was a mistake. He was not able to show proof. So now my mortgage company has forced insurance on me which I’m paying for out of my pocket. I’ve reached out to Sumair several times via phone, email but no avail. I reached out to ALLSTATE to put in a formal complaint. It was only then did I find out that Allstate never had a home policy. So Sumair lied to me when he said he had got me the a great rate when he “bundled” my home and auto policy. So there was nothing they could do about the forced insurance. I then asked them to help me get in touch with Sumair. It was two days later that I received an email from Sumair telling me that he would no longer be my agent and that I would be reassigned to someone new. (Who I’m still waiting to hear from) – I did receive an email from Allstate telling me that Sumair is no longer an agent with Allstate and he’s closed his practice. I don’t know what to believe but I figured I would at least try to save the next person from dealing with the madness that I’ve had to deal with over the last year. I’m reaching out to my lawyer to see if I have grounds for a lawsuit. Peace
